When you walk down the musical road, each artist has a specific charm which gears the emotions to different feelings and Trudy and The Romance waltz you straight down the path of scuzzy 50's melodies into hypnotising Rock 'n' Roll hip shakers. Last week these romanticising Rock 'n' Rollers released their EP Junkyard Jazz and it's well and truly cookin'.
The EP kicks off with some dreamy guitars and some hypnotic harmonies which transitions you into the mindset ready to be hit with the intro of Twist It, Shake It. Rock n Roll. The beat kicking straight off with acappella finger clicks to really set the tone and feel of this conglomerate of unique and special records. This hazy, daydream arrangement sets your mind to float away into the mist of the melodies and get lost in the wonderful world of Trudy And The Romance.
Junkyard Cat, track number 3, really puts the needle onto the vinyl. The raw instrumental intro to this track is magical, it really eludes those crackly tingles you get when you spin an origional vinyl from the 1950's. Transforming into the rock kicks and exclaiming the depth of the record itself, Trudy move their songs in a really captivating sense of musical musings.
Track four, Ruff Ryder, really emphasises those deep Rock 'n' Roll grooves and a perfect bassline that resonates underneath the ornate lyricism and distorted vocals breaking up the EP charmingly before concluding the EP with most recent single to take you further out of reality and waltzing further into a fantasy musical plain, Is There A Place I Can Go. The creative flow of this particular musical nugget journeys you through you're own hypnotic, euphoric dancehall. I love it!
Definitely on my list to see live in the future! Very exciting band, watch this space.
