Hello!
But today we are moving into just some of the beautiful scenery that Wales has to offer. Green Man running from the 17th - 20th of August 2017, has loads to look forward to! Green Man offers an eclectic line up of Live Music, Film, Literature and Comedy and this years lineup is looking incredibly strong. It's a festival that brings out the heart of music lovers and in particular with indie, folk, alternative and Americana to name just a few genres. Past headliners include; Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, The National, Van Morrison and loads more huge names!
This year it's looking like an incredibly strong mix of artists and some I am super excited about and particularly love covering here at Unique Lullaby. Here are just a few picks out of many that I recommend you go see if you've got yourself a ticket!
I'd like to start with one of my absolute favourite artists and someone who I recently caught live and was positively blown away by! Michael Kiwanuka in my opinion is one of the finest artists and musicians of this generation.
With his incredible ability to encapsulate that gorgeous soulful sound with those velvety vocals, and after catching him live in Cardiff last year, I can honestly say he is not one to miss. His set is absolutely captivating and wonderfully revisits tunes from Home Again but encompassing his slightly more upbeat sound on Love & Hate. An album which sounds relentless on vinyl.
Next is one of the most innovative and captivating artists with her own unique and personal twists. Kate Tempest is among the line up for this year and I am certain it will be an incredibly encapsulating set. A winner of The Ted Hughes Award for her ‘Brand New Ancients’. It's spine tingling, intelligently empowered, spoken word!
Girl Ray bring that wonderfully classic British illumination alongside some absolutely gorgeous harmonies and those all encompassing breezy guitar riffs. Their newest release Stupid Things completely ticks all the well proportioned boxes of what to expect from Girl Ray. I caught them at Swn Festival last year and it was drenched in lackadaisical atmospheres as they took hold of the stage and their undeniable memorable presence.
And finally, Happyness. A band I have caught very recently and jumped on the hype. This band are filled with strong guitar melodies and almost psychedelic fueled tunes that take you back to a lazy Sunday in the sun. Incredibly talented trio with those all encompassing 90's indie feels.
These are just a few I pulled out of the list, I could choose more!
