LOCAL ENEMY // FRED PERRY CARDIFF

The pouring rain on Wednesday didn't dampen the mood and excitement of the legend, Liam Gallagher, making waves through Cardiff City Centre. A sold out Cardiff Motorpoint Arena show which saw tickets fly out in minutes, needed something to keep these fans hyped up until the last second and the answer to this came in the form of Merthyr Rock 'n' Rollers, Local Enemy.

As Fred Perry Cardiff opened its door to a late night of drinks and camaraderie, within moments before Local Enemy took to the floor, the store was filled with keen eyed music lovers. It was great to see, Dan, Connor, Lloyd and Liam enthusiastically drive a stripped back twenty minute set of songs mulched in with both originals and covers. Dressed, of course in their finest Fred Perry attire, it was fantastic to have a band play in the wake of an artist they themselves are huge fans of, inside a brand which they are also so passionate about. We saw much of the store singing along to their latest release and original record 'What You Waiting For?' which bounded effortlessly around the room and worked wonderfully stripped back. These boys are known for bringing big riffs and tangy vocals which was relayed perfectly alongside a cover of 'Live Forever' which Liam, himself, belted out live in the arena just hours later. They completely owned the space and showcased their electric sensibilities to performing live.

There was great composure and a pure passion that eluded from the band in a well catered music environment for the boys. There couldn't have been a better and more well poised location for the boys to kick off the Gallagher turmoil about to unfold.
